Recognized for her outstanding achievements both as an educational leader and curriculum writer, Shanna Parry has a very unique profile and reputation in international education. Before founding Global Services in Education (GSE) she had served as a director (Higher Education), headmaster (Secondary School) and consultant (K‐12). Shanna is very sought after in regard to administrative and teacher development, curriculum writing and language programs. Schools under her leadership achieve exceptional results in all key areas, including language development, reading proficiency and writing skills.
With extensive international experience in the United States, the Middle East and China, Shanna has a proven record in being both highly adaptable and innovative as a leader and consultant in a range of international education and business contexts.
So why did she decide to launch her own company?
“We were receiving increasing requests by schools wanting our expertise to help them manage and improve schools. We had seen the mistakes and the negative effects of schools who had poor leadership and those who were sometimes making a choice of profit over quality. We had been successful Principals and we know what can happen when you put together outstanding teams of highly qualified professional teachers, support them, resource them and focus on meeting the needs of students.”
Shanna has led curriculum design and administration of all major curriculums including American K‐12, American AP, International Baccalaureate, UK IGCSE and A Levels. She is also a specialist in language programs (EAP, TOEFL, IELTS and General English), SAT and University preparation. She is widely regarded for her ability to understand different cultures and contextualise international curriculum for unique students, in unique places and countries.
Shanna currently manages 12 schools in China and speaks regularly as a keynote speaker at conferences in many different parts of the world. Government leaders, developers and investors use her knowledge and expertise to shape policy and improve outcomes for students. Parents and students listen to her advice about what is required to get into Ivy League Universities.
“There are thousands of smart kids who want to get into top 50 Universities but very few do because they don’t understand what is required. Successful students start their development plan early in life. They build an excellent academic profile but also a personal one that prepares them for a life of contribution, global leadership and place in an alumni that will make a difference.”
As a company and individually Greg and Shanna have set up, managed and improved nearly 20 schools world-wide, trained teachers and led projects in 12 countries.
GSE has been recognised with several international awards including:
Kingsgate International School is proud to have Shanna as our lead curriculum expert. Come and meet her in person, grab a coffee and understand why Kingsgate International School is a little bit different to most schools in Malaysia.
