Heather Chimbani (United Kingdom)

Early Years Teacher

Heather studied a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years then graduated from the University of Winchester with a BA Honours degree in Primary Education. Following this she worked in England for two years in years one and two and as a speech and language teacher. Heather has been teaching in Tanzania for four years, with primary and early years children. She is passionate and enthusiastic about working with children and she has a firm belief in organising and delivering personalised learning to nurture each child and help them to become the best they can be, reaching their full potential. She believes that the classroom should be colourful, interactive and inspiring, fostering independence and enquiry. Heather encourages children to have an ‘open-mind’ about diversity and to embrace individuality whilst respecting others.

Heather enjoys reading and listening to music. When her head is not in a book she may be found dancing around the house or exploring the great outdoors with her son. She loves the sunshine and she is looking forward to teaching and travelling in Malaysia.
